Sucharita Varanasi is the Head of Sustainability and Impact Investing Law at MassMutual, a Fortune 500 life insurance company based in Springfield, Massachusetts. Prior to this role, Sucharita served as the Company’s Head of Public Policy where she was responsible for setting the company’s public policy strategy. She is committed to giving back to the various communities of which she is a part including her company, the greater legal community, the South Asian community and greater society at large. Sucharita serves as a Board Member of the MassMutual Foundation and sits on the Investment Committee Member of the Company’s Catalyst Fund. Sucharita is also on the company’s pro bono committee, having served as the Chairperson of MassMutual’s pro bono committee during the height of the pandemic. Also, during the height of the pandemic, Sucharita served as the President of the South Asian Bar Association of North America Foundation and as a board member for six years. Sucharita is a 2024 SABA Cornerstone Awardee, 2022 “Leader in the Law” recipient by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, 2020 LCLD (Leadership Council on Legal Diversity) Fellow, and former Commissioner of the City of Cambridge’s Commission on the Status of Women.
