Jermaine Kidd is a native of Dorchester, Massachusetts. He is a graduate of Boston Latin School, Morehouse College, and Boston College Law School. Jermaine is Senior Legal Counsel of U.S. Employment for Smith & Nephew, Inc., a global medical technology company.
Jermaine has served as in-house counsel for other corporations including Samsonite, Tumi, and Panera, where he handled labor and employment legal matters, litigation, and compliance issues in the U.S., Canada, and jurisdictions around the world.
His other legal experience includes serving as Assistant Attorney General for the Trial Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, Labor Counsel for the Massachusetts State Police as well as several years of law firm experience in which he represented and advised private and public clients in a wide range of labor and employment law and other legal matters.
Jermaine is a past president of the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association, a past president of the Greater Boston Morehouse College Alumni Association, he was recognized by the Boston Business Journal as a “40 Under 40” honoree, he received the Boston College Law School “Recent Graduate Award,” and he received the National Bar Association’s “TrailblazerUnder 40 Award.”
Jermaine has always been passionate about reading, writing and literature, and majored in English in college. His favorite authors are Toni Morrison and Richard Wright.
